I didn’t think that I had much to complain about when I got home today and read that were still over 350 people in line at one Apple store, and I only waited about 3.5 hours to purchase my new 3G iPhone. However I am learning more and more that thousands of people with their new iPhones simply have a new shinny useless device in their possession. iTunes is down due to massive server overload and from what I am reading it does not seem to be improving with any speed.
When I initially plugged the phone in and opened iTunes I got this error:
After about 20 minutes or so, and now, almost an hour and a half later I get the following error:
I have read on some posts some where in the cloud that it may take three to four days for new iPhone users to activate their new toys! Everyone is saying that Apple and AT&T should have known better and prepared for this. I’m sure they did know and think about it. I think it’s funny how everyone is complaining and but no publicity is bad publicity and I’m sure that their stocks are not going to come crashing down because of the server overload. If anything, Apple and AT&T will get more media coverage than they anticipated!
Two hours later I still cannot sync the phone but at least it is unbricked! Some progress is better than no progress.
