Safe places for Mom-to-be: Grass Lounge Miami

For my birthday a group of friends and I headed out to Grass Lounge in Miami, located in the heart of Miami’s Design District at 28 NE 40th St, for a fun filled evening of great food and dancing. Being 5 and half months pregnant, I did my research on the venue to make sure it was safe for me to be there. The entire venue is set outside covered by tikki canopies and the gorgeous Miami night sky, so smoke was not an issue or even slight concern for the evening. Their website does not do it justice, as it was even nicer than the pictures portrayed! The array of bonsai trees, gorgeous vines and bamboo that cast elegant shadows, and apothecary jars filled with large colorful flora are just a glimpse of the beauty that is projected from Grass Lounge.

Everyone from the hostess to the bathroom attendant were extremely pleasant and genuine. The music was diverse and enticing with DJ Hyper on the table. On a Friday night you can expect to hear anything from classic 80’s to today’s hottest house beats and, of course, some Latin flavor to spice things up a bit! The menu was incredible and filled with a variety of tastes and textures to please every palate. Our table enjoyed Miso Rubbed Chicken Salad, Marsala-Soy Marinated Skirt Steak, their daily ceviche, and delicious crab-cakes just to name a few of the delectable dishes. Our server, Bruno, was incredible and when the rest of the table ordered a bottle of vodka he brought me my own carafe of sprite since I obviously would not be joining in on the alcohol being served. Personal touches like that are what truly creates the culture of any venue. I know I will definitely be heading back to the classy and chic Grass Lounge both pre and post-baby!
